My favourite cookbook at the moment is The Retro Cookbooks: The Way to a Man's Heart by Elizabeth Wolf-Cohen. I love the nostalgia in it, the photos, the simple but very tasty recipes. It is also quite amusing.

I would love Levi's book to try my hand at Carribean cooking ๐Ÿ™‚

I love Stylish Thai in Minutes http://bit.ly/ACVvZ . It offers a vast array of Thai recipes, most of which can be cooked in 5-10 minutes once you have all the ingredients prepped.

The majority of the recipes are possible at home once you have the basic Thai ingredients (soy sauce, fish sauce, lime, lemongrass etc)

It's also talks about the ingredients being used and even mentions a bit about Thai culture…

Jamie's new book is great too but i havent had enough time to read it yet. The BBQ ribs look awesome.

I am a big Nigella fan, but at the moment I am loving my Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook! It was next on my wishlist for quite some time and then my sister must have read my mind because she sent it to me for my birthday. That was about a month ago and I just can't put it down! The pictures are fabulous and the recipes are easy to follow, it has everything sweet for afternoon tea, perfect for a sugar addict like myself! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the Reggae Reggae sauce by the way, although it pours out of the bottle so fast that I end up using way more than I'd intended.. is that another Dragon's Den tip d'ya think?? ๐Ÿ™‚ Levi was great on the show, wasn't he? Such a character!

I love Beth Hensperger's The Bread Bible. She writes so clearly about the process of making bread, and explains (in the opening chapter) what different ingredients or methods do, in terms of the final texture or flavor of the bread.

At the moment my favourite is the Ottolenghi book, the middle-eastern influences really come through, with lots of spices and garlic and lemon!! I think there's just something a bit different about it, which is great!

I'd love the chance to try out Levi's book and try out some Carribean flavours!

I'm going for an Irish one – Paradiso Seasons Denis Cotter. He has such a natural approach to food, he understands flavours and textures and makes some really unusual combos (yet to try olive oil chocolate mousse!). And he appreciates comforting food too.

You can't help but admire someone who sticks with their veg suppliers in times of plenty by using a glut of whatever it is. And he is a spokesman for local, fresh and seasonal.

Every time i take this book off the shelf I find a recipe which is begging to be cooked. And it's arranged by season so you'll find a few recipes together to choose from for one main ingredient. Don't be put off by the long ingredient list and detailed instructions – the recipes work, are delicious and not half as complicated as they seem.

"From Nonna's Kitchen" is a book of Italian recipes from grandmas all over Italy. The recipes are well-tested and incredibly delicious. I bake my own bread now every week thanks to their inspiration and one recipe in the book that is made with milk and tastes like brioche. Bellissimo!!

My fave cookbook is one my Mom gave me when I got married back on 1973, it was her old copy of The Antoinette Pope School Cookbook. She got it back in the fifties, decided to buy herself the latest edition of it and give her first one to me. It is a thick, complicated book, but also my go to book for any basics. White sauce, temps to cook certain meats at, things like that. If I had a cooking question, I could usually find the answer in my Pope Cookbook!

I love any good cookbook, but the hands down winner is "Joy of Cooking". It's been around for 70+ years and has never failed to answer any questions I have. I prefer editions before 1977…all real, wholesome food. The ones after were altered to fit into latest food trends. Eh. ๐Ÿ™‚

My favourite is Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food. I like that it can give easy reciples, that are simple to follow when I'm in a hurry and trying to feed three kids and a husband!

Also, I like the unpretentiousness (is that even a word?!) – he doesn't "talk down" to the lowly, he just tells it like it is. And doesn't make me feel like a cheater because I haven't time to hand-grind all my spices, I can get a jar of Patak Korma Paste and not beat myself up over it.

Hope that made some sort of sense!

I just moved back from Italy and while I was there I took along a battered, ancient copy of "Italian Food" by Elizabeth David – so revolutionary at the time and still very authentic. Also, when I lived in Athens I wrote down the local grandmothers' family recipes (which I practised under their watchful gaze) and that notebook has become a beautiful snapshot of my time there.

My big time favourite book is Anna del Conte's Amaretto applecake and artichokes…. Anna is in her 80's and writes with passion about italian food, with few pictures the words lure you … and makes you try things you would never have cooked before, just the way a cookbook should be.
