:: Good Mood Food: Simple Healhy Homecooking!

September 14, 2009 at 9:43 am 18 comments

A decision has finally been made!  After a hell of a lot options this is the cover Mercier Press decided on.  I’m pretty happy with it, and just can not wait to see the finished product after all this time!

Here’s a little bit about the book and some of the quotes:

Good Mood Food is a cookbook that aims to change your attitude to food, offering a delicious range of simple, healthy home-cooked recipes. Good Mood Food features mouth-watering recipes like Broad Bean, Pancetta and Pea Shoot Salad, Cookies and Cream Chocolate Chip Oreo Cupcakes, Blueberry and Banana Muffins, and a tasty Aromatic Duck Salad.

“Good Mood Food is a new breed of cookbook that springs from the talent of a passionate home cook. A truly scrumptious read.”
Ross Golden-Bannon
The Sunday Business Post and Food & Wine Magazine.

“At last… Simple, easy recipes that are healthy and interesting. Donal Skehan’s book reclaims good food from the convenience of supermarket shelves and puts it back where it belongs – in the domestic kitchen.”
Paolo Tullio
The Resturant

A sneaky peak from one of the recipes inside the book!

The book will be available from mid-October but can be preordered here:

I'm going to say…..I love it! That cute little smile is what drew me here in the first place. Well, and all the amazing food! I love it, can't wait to see the book!

Body language experts say when you cross your arms like that, it's not very welcoming. But somehow THIS pic works. Maybe its the smile, or the lovely background, or the words Good Mood. It just works.

My verdict? Based on the cover alone: This book is gonna get picked up! 🙂

I have a feeling you (or at least this book cover) will be very influential in sucking hoards of teenage girls into the culinary world! It looks fantastic, it must be so exciting to have a cover picked out- congrats!

    Love the cover.

You know, I love your recipes and I love your music but I have to admit that it's fairly difficult being your fan in the US. 😉

    Good luck with the book!

Just saw this now, congratulations Donal, you must be super psyched.

It's been a good year for you, what with the number 1s and all! Fair play to ya.

Best of luck with the book and the number 1s 🙂

Hi Donal, just surfing thru the rest of your site and I saw your book (bit thick after my last comment of your photos being like something out of a cookbook!). I work in MenuPages.ie – it's a dining out web site – you might know it – anyway, we have helped promote/do PR on cookbooks before as we have a bit of a foodie audience as well as people who like dining out! We have done work with Neven Maguire, Rachel Allen, Bernadette O'Shea on her pizza defined book etc and we'd love to give you some coverage too. If this is something you'd be interested let me know. I have just registered for your email updates so you can grab my personal email from there.
    Thanks, Sandra.

Do you have a US distributor or some way those of us who live in the US can pick this up?

I am also in the US and would like to order a copy. It looks like it is available through the "Amazon Market" from three sellers, but I want to be sure that $$ from the sale would be going to you. Do you know how that works?
